Mosquitos unfortunately are a part of life here in Florida. Their presence can make outdoor activities unbearable and quite miserable.  We at Central Pest Control understand this issue and this is why we offer our state of the art mosquito program which can aid in you taking back your yard. Most companies rely on using fogging machines for control in yards but these treatments are usually only effective for only a few days and in many cases hours. We use attractant stations where the female mosquitos will enter and come in contact with both a larvicide as well as a slow acting adulticide. These products work in conjunction with each other allowing the females mosquito to infect other potential breeding sites before her demise to allow full protection for your yard.

When it comes to protecting your home for mosquitos you must understand their biology and habits. Mosquitos prefer shaded areas, no direct sunlight and can be found resting on foliage including under leaves of trees and other vegetation. Our mosquito traps are placed strategically in these areas where they are most likely to be found.

Mosquitos go through four distinct life stages that include:

  • Eggs- Female mosquitos lay eggs in standing water or soil saturated with water.

  • Larva or larvae: (plural) this stage includes the "wrigglers" molting during this stage and will come to the waters surface to breath.

  • Pupa or pupae: (plural) the "tumblers" in this stage do not feed and after this stage emerge into adults.

  • Adults: This stage is the final stage and adults are able to fly after their body parts have hardened.

Female mosquitos are the only mosquito that will bite and feed on humans or animals. This "blood meal" is necessary for the female mosquitos egg production. After a blood meal it typically takes 3-5 days for the blood to digest.

Our highly trained technicians are trained to find possible breeding sites of the female mosquito and offer advice to limit these sites in the future. With prevention and our mosquito treatment stations we can rid your yard of these pesky invaders.
