Drywood Termites

Drywood termites are typically found in hot and humid regions, this is what makes the Tampa Bay Area a haven for these uninvited guests. These pesky little insects can affect basically anything that is made from a cellulose material including homes, furniture, boxes, pallets and wood decor. When evidence is found from these particular termites it usually comes as a pile of their frass (fecal pellets) found on the floor or in a cabinet. These frass pellets accumulate in the termites galleries and when these galleries fill with the fecal pellets a worker termite will chew an exit hole and "kick out" these pellets, sealing the hole afterward for future use. Many home owners will see this frass and not think anything of it until they return a few days or week later to see a pile of the same material realizing something is amiss. Periodic inspections and treatments of homes is very important to prevent infestations of these termites. #Tampabay #Stpete #Clearwater #Dunedin #Tarponsprings #Ozona #Palmharbor #Southtampa
